Philip Pravda Bio

Four generations ago, my great-grandfather opened his first men's clothing store on West 14th Street in New York City. Throughout the decades, the family expanded to the luxury shopping streets of Third, Lexington, Madison and Fifth Avenues and brought an expertise that only pioneers in menswear could bring.

The boutiques became the resource for heads of state, diplomats, celebrities and businessmen alike from around the world seeking the finest in menswear.  Having personally fitted over 30,000 suits, I understand the concerns about quality and finish. Suits should fit correctly. This is very important. Many companies claim their suits fit well, but in reality, they don't. Problem being is they do not know what to look for in a well-fitted garment.

I bring to you my expertise in men's suits, shirts, ties, outerwear, tuxedos, shoes and accessories with a more than 100-year, cumulative, family history of uninterrupted service in men's fashion since 1908.

My grandfather became known as an innovator in men's clothing in New York City.  He began creating his own designs and creating the standard of men's fashion.  He traveled to Europe for inspiration.  The 1960s and 1970s were his heyday.  In the 1960s, he fashioned trim and slim garments.  His design of the 70s involved a wide lapel suit with wide bottomed pants that were tight at the knee.  The side vents at the back of the jacket went halfway up the back.  His "Hollywood Suit," as he named it, became an iconic look of that era.  People came from all over to buy that style of suit.

Having traveled to Europe on one of the first 747 jets, my grandfather became a pioneer in men's fashion. When I was a kid, I Iearned from the best and paid close attention to the details he sought after and the designs he was able manufacture for his own stores. Years later I traveled to Italy in search of the next great styles for men.  I scoured the premier Italian factories and concentrated my efforts on seeking out manufacturers regarded to produce the most well-made suits.  Luxury Italian brands were at my fingertips for 30 years. Companies I worked with gained the most respect throughout the world in tailored men's clothing: Canali, Ermenegildo Zegna, Brioni and Kiton were some of the first. Now it's time for suits with luxury details and my continued innovation for you... at an affordable price and a no hassle, three measurement order.

3 measurements - 1 great suit.
