Stepping Out In Formal Footwear

In a few days, 2015 will arrive. If you’re celebrating at a swanky event, be sure to be prepared with a dynamite outfit. Men, don’t think you can get away with wearing your work shoes with formal attire. There’s nothing worse than a tuxedo paired with lace-ups completely scuffed from everyday travels on the bus and subway systems of a major metropolis.

Why It's Important For Your Brand That Giorgio Armani Dressed George Clooney For His Wedding

Giorgio Armani, now 80 years old, has his name on every type of product from jeans to hotels to swimwear to perfume. He found it important to make this announcement himself at his Milan Fashion Week show when a vast amount of press was present. We all know George Clooney as a very successful actor with two Oscars. It’s known that the two are friends.

What can we learn from this announcement? Is it just another pop culture, fashion blurb that the press will milk day in and day out until we see the photos? Is there something telling about his announcement that we could use for our own brands?

Single Breasted Suit : A Study In Design

As early as the 1920’s the single breasted suit has been in fashion.  Certainly, it has gone through many changes over the years in terms of fit.  Early on they were tight fitting, then around 1935 they became loose fitting and in the 1970’s became tight fitting again.  It seems at present the trend is back to slimmer fitting, single breasted suits.

There is more than one type of style of single breasted suit, also known as the “SB “ suit.  Most of the styles have to do with how many buttons and what style of lapel is designed into the jacket.

Off to work for the big meeting and you run out the door.  Suddenly, you find yourself pulling at your shirt's sleeves.  You keep trying to pull them down to show more cuff.  Maybe it is of no fault of the shirt.  The suit sleeves are too long and no matter how you try to keep those suit sleeves off of your knuckles, the shirt does not want to show.

Step By Step Guide How To Fold A Suit Jacket For Traveling Without Wrinkles

Over the years of being in the men's clothing business many people have asked me how to fold a suit jacket in the luggage without wrinkles. I would show them a fold taught to me by my grandfather that I have used over and over while traveling. My suits come out of the luggage in great condition even after a long flight. Hang your suit or jacket up when you take it out and wear. No need to call hotel housekeeping for pressing.

HOW TO MEASURE, FIT & WEAR A BELT

Buying a belt sounds easy, but there are a few things you need to know.  How do manufacturers measure their belts?  If you have a 34 inch waist, do you buy a 34 inch belt or a 36?  Well that depends on a few factors.  If you can't be sure how the belt is measured from the factory in which it was made, it may be difficult to tell what size to choose.  In this new video, I explain how companies measure their belts and what to look for when choosing your proper size, measuring and fitting a belt.  Lastly, I give direction on how to comfortably and stylishly wear your belt.

A NOTE FROM THE FOUNDER

In this first blog post, I want you to know that I made this site for you.  It pains me to know that men are buying low quality clothing.  Even worse, low quality clothing with high prices.  Retail store clerks with very little experience in the field of men's fashion and tailoring are giving out expert advice.  On the internet there are many bloggers, You Tubers and entrepreneurs that only regard men's fashion as their hobby or have just recently begun to have their own sense of style and call themselves experts.
