How Exclusive Are Luxury Brands

Givenchy has a $700 shirt in stock. Tom Ford has $3200 shoes on display. Zilli has a suit for $10,200 off the rack. How many do they actually create? It’s not a matter of do they have the customer for these types of price points, they certainly do, but how many pieces could actually be produced in these categories?

How Do You Tell The Difference Between A Suit And Sport Jacket

A suit is a matching set of a jacket and trouser.  It's not enough to say that they match, but must be cut from the same bolt of cloth when the pattern is cut. This is when the suit is just a piece of flat fabric. This part is essential in the manufacturing process to ensure matching die lots. If you cut the pant from another bolt of fabric it may not match even though it is the same.

Stepping Out In Formal Footwear

In a few days, 2015 will arrive. If you’re celebrating at a swanky event, be sure to be prepared with a dynamite outfit. Men, don’t think you can get away with wearing your work shoes with formal attire. Is It OK To Wear An Expensive Suit To A Job Interview?

I think one of my newest videos can help you on what to wear to an interview.  What I tell my clients, even if they can afford an expensive suit, try not to look better than the person interviewing you.  Better to be clean and crisp, but understated and conservative.  You don't have to look dead as though you are missing a personality, but keep it simple.

Double Breasted Suit : A Study In Design

It has been a few years since I have worn a double breasted suit.  In the early 1990s, that ‘s the only design of suit that I wore and felt comfortable in.  Every suit I owned was a double breasted.   For many years now I have been wearing single breasted suits.  Periodically, I would come into contact with a “DB “ suit and would try it on and look in the mirror.  This would usually occur at a clothing factory or showroom where there were samples available to try.  The suit felt comfortable and has a commanding presence about it.

Single Breasted Suit : A Study In Design

As early as the 1920’s the single breasted suit has been in fashion.  Certainly, it has gone through many changes over the years in terms of fit.  Early on they were tight fitting, then around 1935 they became loose fitting and in the 1970’s became tight fitting again.  It seems at present the trend is back to slimmer fitting, single breasted suits.

There is more than one type of style of single breasted suit, also known as the “SB “ suit.  Most of the styles have to do with how many buttons and what style of lapel is designed into the jacket.

Is The Apple Watch A Fashionista In Disguise

When it comes to Apple tech we only get it once every 18 months to two years.  When it arrives there is so much hype and anticipation.  Whatever Apple introduces the majority wants immediately.  There are already people lined up at the Apple flagship on Fifth Avenue and 58th Street in New York City.  Today, along with the new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, Apple launched the Apple Watch.  Not only is it a marvelous piece of innovative technology that took years to design and build, but it’s fashionable or at least it wants to be.
